About
Karaja Sumba is a social enterprise that empowers girls and women through ikat weaving. Our mission interweaves conservation of the island’s natural environment, women empowerment and preservation the island’s cultural heritage.

Since 2019, the Karaja community has grown steadily and now has a total of almost 250 weavers spread across 18 different traditional villages.
Our focus is on women, but we are trying to gradually include men in our community as well.
